Summary of Project:
These photographs were taken over a period of two and a half hours on one misty winter morning in August 2010.
I had visited the site several times previously, and obtained no memorable images.
Brown Lake, or Lake Bumiera, is situated on Stradbroke Island, near Brisbane, Australia. The lake has a sandy base and retains water because a layer of leaves lines its floor. These leaves are dropped from the trees, mostly Paperbarks (Melaleucas) that line the shores. These trees, and the reeds, mist and water, constitute the main elements in the images. All Photographs were taken from the eastern shore of the lake, looking over the water; as the morning progressed the far shore of the lake becomes partly then fully visible.
